CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–Responding to the request of the Local Government of Initao to boost employment opportunities in their area, the city government through the city’s Job Placement Bureau-Public Employment Service Office (JPB-PESO) helped in the conduct of a job fair in the said town.
JPB-PESO Manager Kathleen Sorilla said Initao Mayor Merry Grace J. Acain sent a request letter to CDO City Mayor Rolando Klarex A. Uy to help the former in the conduct of a job fair. “With no hesitation our good mayor advised us to help LGU Initao,” she added.
With the theme, “Edukasyon, Trabaho, Serbisyo: Padayon Paglambo Initao,” the job fair was held, September 27 with JPB-PESO taking the lead in inviting establishments, of which 13 are local establishments and 2 are overseas recruitment agencies.
“Kauban kami ninyo Uy diri sa LGU Cagayan de Oro sa paghatag og dugang serbisyo (We, from LGU Cagayan de Oro, are with you in providing additional services) all for the common good even outside CDO,” Sorilla said.
During the job fair, a total of 133 applicants have registered, of which 59 passed for further interview, and 35 were hired on the spot.
The job fair is an activity of PESO wherein JPB-PESO gathers employers who are looking for applicants and applicants looking for employers in one venue to get the chance of being employed. (RTP/PIA-10)
