NAPOLOENES, a dessert native to Bacolod City, can now be gastronomically experienced by Kagay-anons.
This, after the first and only so far napoleones provider – Yowsef – has opened up just recently.
What sets the confection apart from all other desserts is its unique balance of tastes. Layer upon layer of flaky puff pastry is interspersed with a thick and sinfully rich custard filling. This is then complimented by a thin coating of sugar glaze which acts as counterpoint to the creamy mixture sandwiched between the pastry sheets.
Yowsef is started by an Ilongga from Bacolod City who combined her baking and entrepreneurial spirits so that residents from Cagayan de Oro and nearby places can finally taste the coveted napoleones.
Yowsef will open later this month at the newest food park in town, Copeland located at Ignatius Enclave, Upper Balulang beside Korum. They are expected to operate between 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. every day.
Their napoleones will be available per piece along with other pastries such as triple delight, cookies and brownies but in the meantime, Yowsef napoleones are available in boxes of six, 12 and 15 at the ongoing Mompreneur Fair at Ayala Centrio in time for Mother’s Day until May 15 (along CM Recto wing).
