EGG tarts were created before the 18th century by Roman Catholic monks in Lisbon. It was quite common for monasteries and convents to make cakes and pastries, resulting in the proliferation of sweet pastry recipes throughout the country.
Inspired by her travels in Portugal, the founder of Miya Egg Tarts wants to replicate this gastronomic experience here in Cagayan de Oro and so Miya Egg Tarts was born as a business in 2019.
Egg tarts are a baked pastry consisting of an outer crust filled with egg custard. Miya Egg Tarts offers two flavors: original and cheese. They are available in a box filled with 12 pieces and the good news is that you can order a box filled with two of the flavors at six pieces a flavor.
Miya Egg Tarts is exclusively available online via Maxim app from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. They also currently have a kiosk at the ground level of SM CDO Downtown till May 7.
