Youth entreps finish DTI’s mentorship program

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–Fifty-two youth entrepreneurs from Region 10 graduate from the first Youth Sectoral Batch of the Kapatid Mentor Me-Money Market Encounter (KMME-MME) Program 2022.

KMME-MME is a joint program of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE). It is a s10-module program conducted online via Zoom where entrepreneurs are mentored and coached to boost their business planning and management skills.

After 12 weeks, the mentees present their business improvement plans (BIPs) to an expanded panel in order to officially graduate from the program.

Eleven of the mentees came from Bukidnon, Camiguin (6), Lanao del Norte (12), Misamis Occidental (12), and Misamis Oriental (11).

DTI-10 Regional Director Ermerdio J. Abang congratulated the mentees during the virtual graduation, September 29, 2022.

“We applaud you for your commitment to finish the modules and apply your learnings to improve your businesses,” Abang said. He added, “Through the mentorship program, you have shown your resiliency, determination, creativity, and innovation to become better entrepreneurs in the field of processed food, agri-business, wearables, home-styles, and service.”

In addition, Go Negosyo founder Joy Concepcion expressed his wish for success for all the graduates.

“Always think positive, learn from others, and continue. If you do fail, you try to bring yourself up and learn from the mistakes and be able to move forward,” Concepcion said.

The Youth Sectoral Batch is the second and last batch of the KMME-MME Program to be conducted in 2022. (DTI-10/PIA-10)
