    Globe Business bags back-to-back awards for empowering MSMEs through digitalization

    Globe Business has received two prestigious awards for its exceptional efforts to empower and support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) through digitalization.

    The group received the Gold Award for business-to-business (B2B) marketing at the recent Marketing Excellence Awards 2022, organized by the online publication arm of Singapore-based Lighthouse Independent Media. It also won Best SME Operator/Operator of the Year for the Gift Local “Buy Once, Give Twice” initiative from the Asia Communication Awards (ACA) of Total Telecom.

    In 2021, the brand launched an animated, easy-to-understand information communications technology (ICT) explainer video series featuring “Shawn,” a virtual coach that helps MSMEs with the right solutions (solu-SHAWN) such as APIs, Cloud Payroll, Cybersecurity, Vehicle Tracker and SMS blasting via Globe portfolio company M360 to transform their operations in the digital age.

    Through the campaign, Globe Business was able to communicate the product features, benefits, advantages and sample scenarios making it the trusted solutions partner of MSMEs. This has brought the brand closer to MSMEs, making Globe Business their trusted partner.

    “Solutions from Shawn” eventually won in the B2B Marketing Excellence category for the creative methods used to reach B2B audiences.

    In the same year, the brand launched its annual Christmas campaign Gift Local to advocate its support for local businesses. MSMEs are the lifeblood of the Philippine economy, accounting for 99.51 percent of total businesses and generating 60 percent of the total jobs in the country, per data from the Department of Trade and Industry.

    Globe Business assisted MSMEs with their respective digitalization journeys to expand their client base and increase people’s awareness and appreciation of Philippine-made products during the global health pandemic.

    Gift Local “Buy Once, Give Twice,” meanwhile put the spotlight on micro, small and medium local social enterprises that support the livelihood of farmers, local designers, and indigenous communities, as well as those who follow sustainable practices behind every product they put on the shelf. The initiative intends to enable these purpose-led businesses to thrive especially at this time when many Filipinos are affected by unemployment due to the pandemic.

    The Marketing Excellence Awards are hosted in four other Asian countries. Nominees are judged by an independent panel of industry leaders and senior marketers to recognize outstanding work in the marketing industry.

    Meanwhile, the Asia Communication Awards recognizes the region’s leading communication service providers and telecom operators as well as original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), suppliers and other service providers based within the region, or those offering products and solutions specifically targeting the region.

    The two back-to-back awards are a testament to the impact that Globe Business makes on MSMEs, reinforcing its standing as a trusted brand among Filipino entrepreneurs.
