    CINEMAGIS Reloaded issues call for entries

    CINEMAGIS Northern Mindanao Short Film Festival recently issued a call for entries for its 14th Edition on April 3 – 6, 2024 at the Xavier University Little Theater, Cagayan de Oro city.

    Cinemagis celebrates and recognizes the Northern Mindanao filmmaking engagements and frontiers. Cinemagis was coined from “cine” (the art of film making) and “magis” (the Ignatian principle of doing one’s best beyond what is expected), has been the showcase project of the Xavier Center for Culture and the Arts, of Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan and founded by XUCA Director Hobart A. Savior.

    It has been supported by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Film Development Council of the Philippines in all its past 13 festivals.\

    Eligible for the Showcase and Special Citation Categories are CINE MGA INDAY, MGA ONDO Short or full-length feature films on gender created between 2019 and 2024 with a running time between 7-30 minutes on any of the Sustainable Development Goals or Physical and Mental Health or Mindanao River.

    THIS CATEGORY IS OPEN TO ALL MINDANAOAN Filmmakers.

    For its LANTAW PROGRAM (Competition), eligible are short Films from Northern Mindanao created between 2019 and 2024 (Running Time: minimum 7 minutes, maximum 30 minutes) on the following suggested themes: Mindanao Culture and Folk Life; Physical and Mental Health; Environment and Climate Change; Preservation of Life and Human Dignity; Filipino Values and Family Solidarity; Gender Equality and Understanding the Self; and, Socio-Political Realities.

    THIS CATEGORY IS OPEN TO NORTHERN MINDANAOAN FILMMAKERS ONLY.

    “The short films must be free of copyright issues in all materials and elements used, such as music, story or screenplay, images, etc.,” said Hobart Savior, Festival Director. “In compliance with the data privacy law, all actors and film crew must have full consent in terms of their participation. We will provide forms to the film producers or directors to assist in compliance of these requirements.”

    Entries are to be submitted in the following formats: Film and Trailer H.264 Mpeg-4 AVC | 720 p or 1080 p Fit to FB Streaming, and Poster 13” x 19” in PSD and JPEG files.

    Deadline for submission is  on or before 11:59 pm March 11, 2024 (Monday).
