Globe hits 20M SIM registrations, calls on customers to register SIMs as deadline nears

Globe has hit 20 million registrations of prepaid and postpaid SIMs as it continued nationwide efforts to encourage customers to register their SIMs before the April 26, 2023 deadline.

As of March 22, Globe has logged 20.44 million registered SIMs. There are an estimated 86.7 million SIMs under the Globe network.

“We are grateful for the cooperation of our customers as we hit this milestone. As the deadline draws near, we hope that more customers will take the time to register their SIMs to avoid deactivation and continue enjoying Globe’s call, text and data services,” said Darius Delgado, Head of Globe’s Consumer Mobile Business.

“We have been going far and wide to reach our customers in remote areas and those who need assistance in registering their SIMs. We urge our customers to please register their SIMs before the deadline so their SIMs won’t get deactivated. Our online portal and app are accessible 24/7, and our Globe Stores are also open to provide assistance,” said Cleo Santos, Channel Management Group Head at Globe.

Prepaid customers using Globe, TM and Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi who have yet to register their SIMs may do so on Globe’s user-friendly registration website https://new.globe.com.ph/simreg and the GlobeOne app, which may be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. Customers must have all the necessary information and documents ready before starting the registration process. These are the following:

    ● Full name

    ● Birthday

    ● Sex

    ● Address

    ● Type of government ID presented and ID number

    ● Valid government ID with photo (file size only up to 4MB)

    ● Selfie photo (file size only up to 4MB)

Postpaid and Platinum customers, meanwhile, only need to text SIMREG to 8080 to confirm that details they earlier submitted to Globe in applying for their postpaid plan are updated. Those who want to update their information may do so via new.globe.com.ph/simreg.

Globe has also been deploying SIM Registration Assistance booths nationwide for customers who need help, including senior citizens, PWD, pregnant women and those using basic/feature phones or lack internet access.

Globe has also been supporting efforts of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to bring SIM registration assistance to remote areas. To date, it has supported nine rounds of NTC-led on-site SIM registration activities.

The SIM Registration Act aims to address SIM-aided fraud and cybercrime, which proliferated with the use of unregistered SIMs. SIMs that remain unregistered past the deadline will be deactivated.
