    DOLE-10 conducts mega job fair on Independence Day

    CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10 invites job seekers as they will conduct the second face-to-face mega job and business fair dubbed, 124th  Kalayaan Trabaho Negosyo Kabuhayan Job and Business Fair, where 50 local employers, 3 overseas employers, and nearly 30,000 job vacancies will be up for grabs.

     “I am inviting our job seekers, especially those unemployed and affected by the COVID-19 [pandemic] to please participate in our major job and business fair,” says DOLE-10 Regional Director Albert Gutib.

    Aside from the employers that will participate in the event, attached agencies of DOLE will also join for a one-stop shop, for delivery of basic services namely Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB), National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC), Regional Conciliation and Mediation Board Occupational Safety and Health Center, Employees Compensation Commission, Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). 

    Also joining the event is the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for entrepreneurs and small businesses. 

    For the local hiring, vacant positions include production workers (130 vacancies), service crew thru outsourcing (100), BPO customer service representatives (60), human resource managers (50), proofreaders (50), subtitlers (50), bus conductors (50), bus drivers (50), manufacturing bundlers (50), and production utility (50).

    Meanwhile, for the overseas vacancies which are mostly bound to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Japan, and Romania countries, job vacancies include office and facility cleaning workers (80), sales ladies (80), food attendants (50), general cleaners/workers (50), and electroplaters (50).

    DOLE reminded the applicants to bring all pertinent documents needed as they apply for the position that suits their skills and credentials. For those who may fail during the job application, Gutib encouraged them to visit DTI and try venturing into an enterprise or business. (JAKA/PIA-10)
