Cagayan de Oro based Chada Fireworks emerged as the champion in the, 1st Mayor Klarex Uy Pyromusical Fireworks Competition held December 1, 2023 at the Rio de Oro Boulevard
Billeted as Entry # 5, the local entry headed by Jeffrey Ang saved the best for last and topped the four other competitors who came from all over the country to vie for the grand prize in the first fireworks Olympics sponsored by the City Government of Cagayan de Oro.

Previous pyromusical competitions were hosted by SM CDO Uptown at Pueblo de Oro Business Park as one of the core events of the city’s Higalaay Festival, previously known as the Kagay-an Festival, and Higalaay Kagay-an Festival.
Tower Fireworks from Cotabato was first runner up while Red Star Events & Fireworks from Makati City finished third.

The other entries were Global Fireworks from Laguna, and Platinum Fireworks from Bulacan.
Each participant was given at least 5 minutes time to showcase their respective entry which wowed the thousands of spectators who lined the entire length of the Rio de Oro Boulevard and the adjacent Ysalina, JR Borja and Maharlika bridges across the Cagayan River.
Vehicular traffic was snarled for over five hours as traffic enforcers struggled valiantly to control the bumper-to-bumper vehicle traffic which was compounded by thousands of spectators hurrying to and fro to get a better vantage view of the proceedings.
As champion, Chada Fireworks will receive P200,000, Tower Fireworks P150,000 for 1st Runner Up and Red Star Events & Fireworks P100,000 as Second Runner Up. The prizes will be awarded on Friday, December 22nd following the Marching Band Competition to be held at the Rio de Oro Boulevard starting at 4PM where awarding of winners from the Christmas Symbols and Icons Contest will also be held.
