CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The opening of the Department of Science and Technology-10’s 2022 National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) celebration will seal the agency’s partnership with selected local chief executives in building smarter community in the region this October 25, 2022 at Limketkai Luxe Hotel.
Anchored on the theme “Agham at Teknolohiya: Kabalikat sa Maunlad na Kinabukasan”, this year’s 2022 NSTW premiers the Smart and Sustainable Cities and Communities (SSCC) Program through the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the local government units (LGUs) from Oroquieta City in Misamis Occidental, Iligan City in Lanao del Norte, Malaybalay City in Bukidnon and Municipality of Magsaysay in Misamis Oriental.
Engr. Sancho Mabborang, the Officer-in-Charge of DOST-10 and Undersecretary for Regional Operations will lead the MOU signing between the local chief executives.
The signing of the MOA will pave way for a vibrant partnership of DOST-10 with the LGUs in outlining projects that will address challenges of the urban and regional life of communities through maximum use of science, technology, and innovation.
With the implementation of the DOST Smarter City Framework in Northern Mindanao, the vision to turn communities into smarter, sustainable cities is now imminent to uplift the living condition of its communities and become resilient to the impacts of climate change.
