Australia stands with PH in fight vs terrorism

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)–As the city was drastically marked with a historical firefight between the government troops and Dawlah-Islamiyah inspired terrorist group years back, the sovereign country Australia delivered its solid support to the Philippines as it now gears to battle against terrorism.

Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Steven Robinsons emphasized in his latest visit Thursday, February 24, that the mission of conquering violence will require a unified effort, thus, the initiative of his country to support and be one with the Philippines.

“Australia stands for the Philippines for fighting against terrorism. It will have lots of cooperation to defeat terrorism and we stand for the people of Marawi as they recover,” he said.

With Australia likewise contributing significantly to the rehabilitation of the city, Robinson repeated that they will continue its aid for the good of the affected citizens.

“Australia has been here for the last five years and it is going to be here for the foreseeable future to support the city to return to its former glory and the people who have been placed in a difficult status that is a result of the siege and the fight against terrorism,” he said.
