It’s not just the rainy season, but it’s true that when it rains, it pours!
The accolades continue to pour in for Andre John Cue who was recently tagged as Mister Teen International by Mister International Philippines, and has now been chosen as the country’s bet to the Caballero Universal pageant in Venezuela.
In a special announcement, Mister International Philippines (MIP) National Director Atty. Manuel Deldio posted: “The Mister International Philippines Organization is pleased to announce that ANDRE CUE @andrecue75 will represent the Philippines this November in Caballero Universal. This is the first time that Team Filipinas will send a candidate in this competition, not to mention in Asia. With everyone’s prayer and encouragement we are certain that we can get the crown! Let Knight Andre make the Philippines proud!” In an announcement posted in its social media page dated 21 August 2022, MIP explained its selection of Andre, who will not only be representing the Philippines for the first time ever in this pageant, but will also be making history as Asia’s first ever contestant: “The Mister International Philippines Organization has recently acquired the Philippine franchise for Caballero Universal that will be hosted in Caracas, Venezuela this coming November, 2022.” “As a result, we have to assign a delegate for the said pageant who is still unscheduled to compete within the year.” “Andre possesses the qualifications and the standards set by Caballero Universal. The Organization did not think twice to appoint Andre as this opportunity will open the doors for Filipinos and Asians to show what we have in the international stage.” “We hope that you will understand this recent development. It is our main objective to maintain a good working relationship with the international pageants we hold country franchises of. Rest assured, we will still send a Philippine representative to Mister Teen International next year.” Spain’s Cristhian Naranjo Gómez was crowned Caballero Universal 2021 during the pageant’s finale that took place at the Hotel Venetur Margarita in Venezuela. He bested twelve other contestants for the title, including the host candidate, Luis Bermudez, who was named Virrey (Viceroy). With this new development, Andre will be the first ever male Kagay-anon contestant to represent the Philippines as well as Asia in an international pageant. Andre was tagged as one of the early favorites among the 33 aspirants during the Mr. Philippines International pageant last June, and was the youngest candidate at 19, winning the following Pageant Awards: Darling of the Press, top 15 in the Modern National Costume contest, and was also chosen as one of the 5 models for the collaboration of world global fashion icons Michael Cinco Couture and Jojo Bragain Shoes, and one of the Faces of David Salon and DermaWorld. Andre is the third of four sons of businessman Oliver John and former commercial model and entrepreneur Mags Cue of MAGS Fashion Apparel. His siblings are Patrick, Paolo and younger brother Anton. He is a Senior High School graduate of Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan. With this remarkable showing in his first ever pageant, Andre flashed the fashion genes of his mom Mags well, who was cited as one of Best Dressed Women of the Philippines in 2013 by the Philippine Cancer Society, whom PCS Honorary Chair Imelda Cojuanco describes as “accomplished in their chosen passion yet remain humble; driven yet compassionate.” Andre will attempt to give the Philippines its first back-to-back wins in the Mister Teen International pageant as the reigning titlists are both from the Philippines- Vaughan Justice of Tacloban City and Carissa Neuel Finn Pono of Ormoc City.
