Aside from the famous pastel and peanuts,
With this comes the increase in trends on many chicharron varieties produced in the market.
SLERS Industries, Inc. steps up to the trend by upgrading to all-new equipment provided by the DOST through its Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP).
With the project entitled Upgrading of Chicharron Production Through Automated Packaging, the company acquired the Automatic Packaging Machine with Multi-Head Weigher, Vertical Form Fill Seal Machine, Bucket Type Conveyor, Discharge Conveyor, and Hot Stamp Ribbon Coder.
The company had its first run on the equipment during the equipment turn-over ceremony on January 31, 2019, at their manufacturing site at Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.
Among those who attended the ceremony was Ms. Mercedes Fidelita P. Mejia, owner of SLERS Industries Inc., and Ms. Lesli N. Uy, Science Research Specialist II of the Bukidnon Provincial Science and Technology Center.
"We are very happy today because it is the day that we are finally going to be operating the new equipment which we were able to acquire through the assistance of the SETUP program of the DOST.", Ms. Mejia said.
They can now produce larger quantities of chicharron to cope up with the rising demands of their buyers.
"This ensures that we will be able to continue our production without having to really put out a lot of stress on our finances", Ms. Mejia added
DOST is encouraging all Micro, Small, and Medium scale Enterprises to avail of the SETUP program to improve their operations and thus boost their productivity and competitiveness. For more information, contact PSTC-Bukidnon at 0917-677-3332. (Julie Anne H. Baculio, DOST-X)
