MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL (PIA)–Misamis Occidental Governor Philip Tan tested positive of coronavirus disease (COVID)-19, January 21, 2022.

Despite following strict health protocols, the governor informed the people of Misamis Occidental that he was infected with COVID but that he is okay. He only has slight fever and itchy throat.
“Maayo na lang nahuman nako sa booster shots, dili ra kaayo ta maluya ug magrabe” (Luckily I had the booster shots, I won’t get too weaken or critical),” he added.
Tan said he will undergo self isolation for 14 days, as advised by his doctor and will send medical data every three hours.
His wife, Tangub City Mayor Jennifer Tan is very okay and will also undergo the same number of days of isolation, he added.
“I am also asking those who came in close contact with me at the office or meet me last Monday to have check up to your health center even if you do feel well,” the governor said.
He encouraged Misamisnons not to be complacent and will not have face to face meetings for the meantime.
