MASS SPECC GRADUATES 24 TESDA SCHOLARS

Twenty-four (24) coop managers and board members recently graduated from Cooperative Development and Management (CDM) Level IV, the first qualification approved by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority for cooperatives. The graduates are officers of multi-purpose and transport cooperatives from different parts of Mindanao and received scholarship grants from TESDA.

Held in MASS SPECC on January 9, 2023, the graduation was graced by Ms. Marigold Cherie R. Garrido, TESDA Provincial Director for Misamis Oriental, and by Mr. Aminoden A. Elias, the Regional Director of the Cooperative Development Authority for region 10. In her congratulatory message, Ms. Garrido emphasized the importance of continuous learning and encouraged the graduates to apply their learning from the course in their own cooperatives.

CDA Director Elias elaborated on some important qualities coop leaders should exemplify in order to succeed and to ensure the growth and development of the cooperatives they lead.

CDM is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of coop officers to establish a cooperative, develop quality products and services, develop human resources, practice good governance, ensure safe and sound operation, and contribute to social, economic, and environmental sustainability.

The course was delivered over a period of 5 months from July 18 to November 28, 2022 using blended learning method.

MASS SPECC is the first cooperative organization accredited by TESDA to conduct the CDM.
