CAMIGUIN (PIA)–Focusing on solid waste management and environmental protection, the provincial government here initiated discussions with the Spanish Embassy on how the latter may assist with further improving solid waste management in the province with then Gov. and now Rep. Jurdin Jesus Romualdo.
“This has now led to a partnership with Spanish firm ATI Consultores to conduct a comprehensive study on solid waste management in Camiguin in order to determine the best ways to continue keeping our province clean for decades to come,” Gov. Xavier Jesus Romualdo said.
The governor further added that they want to keep Camiguin’s natural resources and tourism industry thriving and, “of course, enable future generations to enjoy the natural beauty of Camiguin that we enjoy today.”
Also, during the joint venture and lease agreement signing of Camiguin Water Company (CWC) and Camiguin Integrated Water System Cooperative (CIWASCO), September 3, Rep. Jurdin Jesus Romualdo emphasized the need to maintain and even improve the cleanliness of the island as this is a way to entice tourists and locals to visit and enjoy the island province.
Gov. Romualdo extends his gratitude to the government and the people of Spain and looks forward to more programs, projects, and partnerships that will contribute to the continued progress of the province. (RTP/PIA-10/Camiguin)
