The most awaited culinary show and live competitions is back!
Now in its 26th year, the Cagayan de Oro Hotel and Restaurant Association (COHARA) present Kumbira 2022 with the theme: Tubong Mindanao “Showcasing the best local products, talents and skills of Mindanao”. Through Kumbira, COHARA aims to showcase and promote the flavors and regional flavors of Mindanao cuisine; promote the use of indigenous ingredients in local recipes, hone culinary skills and apply new techniques and technologies in developing local cuisine, and promote skills certification to professionalize the hospitality industry in Mindanao. Witness Professionals and Students competing in one arena with Kumbira Masters, flairtending and display competitions at the Atrium of Limketkai Center on October 16 & 17, 2022. Admission is free. Besides its flagship Kumbira Masters Competitions for pastry and dessert, dining service, culinary challenge, beverage service and a brand competition, Kumbira 2022 will also highlight Master Classes by Master Chefs as a pre-event on October 15 at the VIP Hotel, a Colors of Mindanao Exhibit featuring products from the six regions of Mindanao (Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, Caraga, and the BARMM, and a Food Avenue where COHARA members will showcase their specialty dishes for the public. The pre-event Master Classes scheduled on October 15 features Chef Norbert Gandler (HOW TO BE A CHEF-PRENEUR: How to open a restaurant, Writing a recipe, Menu/ recipe costing, General requirements to open a restaurant or any food business); Chef Laetitia Moreau (BOOSTING SALES THROUGH DIGITAL MARKETING), and Chefs See Cheong Yan, Norbert Gandler, and Laetitia Moreau (MASTER CULINARY BASICS).
