ILIGAN CITY—Despite the heavy rains, supporters of AP Partylist in Iligan City stood and waited for hours to attend the AP Partylist grand rally held at Cabili Avenue, Poblacion on the afternoon of April 26.
Coco Martin, award-winning lead actor of one of the longest running primetime shows, performed for the crowd together with Smugglaz, Basilio, Sisa, and TikTok star Diff Fam even as the rains kept pouring on the estimated four thousand people gathered here.
AP Partylist’s day in Iligan began with a Tao sa Tao house-to-house campaign together with Smuglazz, Basilio, and Sisa and Team AP led by first nominee Rep. Ronnie Ong. Team AP went around the Iligan terminal in Tubod and the Poblacion wet market on Tuesday morning and early afternoon.
Rep. Ronnie Ong and Iligan City Sole Rep. Frederick Siao and his slate of local officials arrived at the grand rally venue aboard a tartanilla, the local kalesa. The tartanilla holds a special significance for the solon who had provided support to tartanilla drivers during the pandemic. Tartanilla drivers suffered massive income losses because of the pandemic containment measures and Rep. Ronnie Ong and AP Partylist made sure to provide them with livelihood support. This is still part of AP Partylist’s advocacy and efforts to help economically displaced transport workers throughout the ongoing pandemic.
