CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–Celebrating the Dinogan Festival in the new normal, Barangay Carmen in Cagayan de Oro City held several activities to honor the barangay’s patron saint, Nuestra Señora del Carmen, July 12-14, 2022.
The activities include the Pista sa Nayon (July 12), Dinogan Festival Street Dancing (July 13), and the Civic Parade (July 14). Fun games were also held such as the Kadang-Kadang, Palo Sebo, Eskati, and more.
“Hinaut magmatngon ta aron magpadayon ang kasaulogan, mag-obserbar ug magdasig ko, mag-awhag ko kaninyo kadtong wala pa na-vaccinated mabaksinan na unta dasigon mo nako mga igsuon kay para sa atong kaugalingong panglawas,” Mayor Rolando Uy said.
(We should be cautious so we can continue with our celebration, let us observe and I encourage all those who were not yet vaccinated to get vaccinated because this is also for your own health)
Carmen was intensely forested by Dinog trees, thus the old name of the barangay was derived from the said tree. (RTP/PIA-10)
