CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–Twenty-three local designers in Region 10 officially graduated and launched their new designs and prototypes during the Design Upgrade Culmination Program in SM City CDO Uptown, August 19.
The Design Upgrade Program is a training program which intends to capacitate local designers in the various mandatory labeling and packaging requirements for food products and the design trends for homestyle and wearables products.
It is an initiative of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10 under its One Town, One Product (OTOP) Program and in collaboration with the Design Center of the Philippines (DCP).
For three months, the local designers of Region 10 underwent learning sessions on wearables and homestyle trends, presentation on their design sketches, series of consultations with the DCP designer consultants, and had a collaborative consultation with 30 local MSME co-creators for the drafting and execution of new designs.
The newly launched designs and prototypes are currently being displayed in the Kahimunan Regional Trade Fair 2022 in SM City CDO Uptown from August 19 to 29, 2022. (DTI-10/PIA-10)
